Mission
The Planning Department collaborates with community stakeholders to plan and promote a vibrant, safe, attractive, and balanced city for today and tomorrow. We create and implement development policies, regulations, and practices to ensure safe and well-maintained buildings and properties. We also provide the Milpitas community excellent customer service through efficient permitting and development review services, fair and timely inspections, compassionate code enforcement, and inclusive engagement.
Description
- Assists residents, businesses, designers, developers, and architects to comply with the City's Zoning Ordinance and design standards.
- Collaborates with community stakeholders to guide and promote the city's and its neighborhoods' physical and economic development.
- Provides plan review and permitting to implement standards and the zoning code. Prepares, maintains, and implements the City's General Plan, two Specific Plans, and other development policy documents.
