The City adopted the Climate Action Plan Update in 2022 which lays out the near- and long-term strategy for reducing communitywide Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and meeting state and worldwide climate goals. The City of Milpitas has undertaken an infrastructure modernization program designed to improve citywide services, conserve and generate clean energy, and reduce operations and maintenance expenses. The program consists of 10 different measures; the first phases of construction are underway now. Learn more at the Smart City Milpitas page.
