Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) is an initiative of The Manufacturing Institute to inspire and build the future manufacturing workforce and generate awareness about the manufacturing industry. This event is celebrated on the first Friday of October, but communities around the country celebrate MFG Day throughout October via various events including facility tours, educational fairs, hiring events, and classroom visits.
The City and Milpitas Unified School District (MUSD) hosted the 9th annual Manufacturing Day event on Friday, October 17 in partnership with product manufacturers Flex LTD and Venture. This event informed and educated high school students in Milpitas about the local technology and manufacturing industries and related careers. The event engaged students and guests in manufacturing activities including soldering their own mini flashlights. Activities also included facility tours, product and process demonstrations, as well as meet and greets between employees and students. More than 90 guests attended Manufacturing Day 2025 including elected and appointed officials as well as students from Calaveras Hills High School, MUSD Innovation Campus, Milpitas High School, and adult learners.
