Electrification Corner

Go Electric, Milpitas!

Switching to clean electricity over natural gas or gasoline in our buildings and cars are priority strategies in Milpitas' Climate Action Plan. The City of Milpitas' Go Electric, Milpitas! program provides exclusive rebates to Milpitas residents who upgrade to electric home appliances. You could receive an additional $3,600+ on top of approximately $13,000 in pre-existing rebates to complete your electrification projects.

Why is Electrification Important?

Using clean electricity to power our homes can significantly reduce Milpitas' community greenhouse gas emissions. Burning natural gas in our homes or using gasoline in our vehicles also releases air pollutants which can lead to increased risks of respiratory ailments in our community. However, using electric appliances and driving electric vehicles can contribute to better air quality and less pollution.

Electrification Made Even More Affordable

Milpitas works with Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE), a community choice energy provider, to provide carbon-free electricity to almost all of our homes and businesses at a lower cost than Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). This makes electrifying homes and transportation simple, accessible, and good for your pocketbook.

Don’t miss your opportunity to take advantage of the Go Electric, Milpitas! program, which partners with SVCE to provide Milpitas-exclusive financial incentives and rebates! See the chart below for details on what type of appliances you can receive rebates for.

Ready to start? Apply for your rebates through SVCE's application process. You can also view some Frequently Asked Questions (PDF) about the program for more information.
