Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Why is Tango Park important for the community?
A: The Milpitas Metro Specific Plan’s open space policies were developed in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Master Plan’s development process to ensure that open space and recreational facilities in the Plan Area meet the needs of residents, workers, and visitors in a manner that is consistent with the City’s overarching vision for the park system
This new park holds immense significance for our community. The park will promote community health by providing a green space where residents can exercise, relax, and connect with nature. It becomes a place for families, friends, and neighbors to gather, fostering social bonds and reducing social isolation. Moreover, the park’s environmental impact cannot be overlooked—trees and plants will improve air quality and act as buffers against noise pollution from nearby roads. It also adds to the neighborhood’s aesthetics, becoming a landmark that contributes to our community’s identity.
Q: What is a standard park project schedule?
A: The planning and design development will take approximately 18 to 24 months to complete. The project will begin with community engagement anticipated to start summer of 2024 and the development of the final conceptual design expected by spring/summer of 2025. The project will move into the construction drawing phase following the completion of the preferred concept design. The Construction is anticipated to start early 2027.
Q: What is being done to make sure the community is being heard?
A: Multiple outreach materials and methods will be utilized to maximize outreach to the community and accommodate community members with schedule conflicts and limited availability. Project messaging and materials will be provided in multiple languages to encourage participation from as many community members as possible.
