Street Resurfacing

Following the successful completion of the Street Resurfacing Project along Great Mall Parkway (between the I-880 northbound on/off ramp and McCandless Drive., as well as Thompson Street/Court.), the Public Works Department of the City of Milpitas will be applying for federal funding to support an upcoming street resurfacing initiative. The new project will include Great Mall Parkway between McCandless Drive and Montague Expressway, East Tasman Drive between the I-880 on/off ramp and Alder Drive, and Alder Drive between Barber Lane and East Tasman Drive.

This project is a continuing effort to improving the safety, accessibility, and quality of the City’s roadway infrastructure. Before we submit the application, we would like to receive your feedback to that we can better plan our projects and understand the community’s priorities and needs.

Project Overview:

The Street Resurfacing Project aims to:

  • Improve road conditions by resurfacing streets across Milpitas, focusing on areas most in need.
  • Enhance safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians through new pavement, updated signage, and better lane markings.
  • Increase accessibility by ensuring compliance with ADA standards, including improvements to sidewalks, curb ramps, and crosswalks.
