The Milpitas Police Department has a thorough and collaborative process when developing policies and procedures. The process includes, but is not limited to, research and review of national and state laws, best practices, and policy alignment with current legal standards and evolving societal needs. Stakeholder input, including community members, advocacy groups, and legal experts are also vital components of shaping our policies. Our commitment to transparency and accountability means that our policies are accessible to the public, fostering trust and ongoing dialogue within our community.
Updated Department policies will be uploaded to the transparency portal on an annual basis. Current copies can be requested from the Professional Standards Division at 408-586-2934.
