About the Show
The Lightning Thief began as a one-hour musical in 2014 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre off-Broadway. Following a successful national tour, an expanded version of the show returned to the same theater in 2017, drawing even more fans to Percy Jackson’s mythological world. Percy Jackson, a half-blood son of a Greek god, discovers powers he can’t control and a destiny he never wanted. When Zeus’s master lightning bolt is stolen, Percy becomes the prime suspect and must recover it to prove his innocence and prevent a war among the gods. Along the way, he faces a mythology textbook’s worth of monsters, journeys to the Underworld and back, solves the Oracle’s riddle warning of betrayal by a friend, and confronts the truth about his absent father.
