Tenant-Landlord Dispute Resolution
For any individuals in need of tenant/landlord dispute resolution, the City contracts with Project Sentinel. They can assist with informing residents of tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities, mediation between tenant and landlord, and arbitration.

Fair Housing Advocacy & Counseling
The City contracts with Project Sentinel for its Fair Housing Center services. Project Sentinel is able to assist residents with education, counseling, and advocacy of fair housing laws. They also investigate of fair housing complaints.

Milpitas Rent and Mortgage Relief Program
The City of Milpitas Rent and Mortgage Relief Program is now live! Eligible low-income can receive up to $5,000 in rent relief. Detailed eligibility requirements, application, and the latest information can be found on the City of Milpitas Rent and Mortgage Relief Program website. This program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
The City of Milpitas has partnered with FORWARD to administer the City of Milpitas Rent and Mortgage Relief Program. For general questions, please email FORWARD or call 1-855-582-FWRD (3973).

Rent Review Ordinance
The Rent Review Ordinance has created additional requirements to each tenant and landlord when a rent increase notice is delivered:
- Tenants receiving a rent increase above 5% are entitled to request rent review. The request for rent review must be requested within 15 days of receiving the rent increase notice.
- Landlords must provide specific noticing forms to tenants along with any notice to increase rents.
- Tenants and/or landlords are encouraged to contact the City's designated service provider (Project Sentinel) at 408-946-6582 or email Project Sentinel.
