ADU Incentive Program

The City of Milpitas is launching the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Incentive Program to encourage residents to obtain ADU permits to ensure that new ADUs and existing but unpermitted ADUs are compliant with building codes and meet health and safety standards.

ADU Monday Program

The ADU Monday Program provides a complimentary consultation service to help answer questions regarding the requirements for development of an ADU in Milpitas.

Pre-Approved ADU Program

The pre-approved ADU program offers standard construction plan sets designed by qualified professionals that are pre-approved by the City with reduced plan review fee and turnaround time.

Safe ADU Legalization Program

The Safe ADU Legalization Program is offered to encourage and help residents to legalize and improve the safety of an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) or junior accessory dwelling unit (JADU) by converting a garage, other rooms or existing structures, or building a new ADU structure without obtaining permits.
