Grants available this summer!
The Office of Economic Development has partnered with FORWARD to administer $335,000 in microenterprise assistance grants via the federal government's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Up to 67 grants of $5,000 each are available to help with business costs. Priority will be given to eligible applicants including daycare and childcare providers that did not receive grants during the funding cycle that concluded in April 2025. The application window is Tuesday, July 8 until Tuesday, August 5 at 6:00 PM.
Eligibility Requirements
- Microenterprises must be for-profit enterprises operating within Milpitas city limits
- Microenterprises must not exceed five (5) employees
- Microenterprises must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued by SAM.gov
- Active business license in good standing issued by the City of Milpitas
- The business owner must be at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI) for Santa Clara County
- Provide a current North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code
