Project Description: A Conditional Use Permit and Minor Site Development Permit for the development and operation of a 44,088-square foot private preschool and elementary school. The Stratford School will renovate an existing 44,088-square foot vacant building and construct 12 preschool/pre-kindergarten classrooms, four kindergarten classrooms, and four first and second grade elementary school classrooms with a total of 480 students and 56 staff. In addition, the Project includes a multi-purpose hall, administrative block comprised of offices, conference room, work room, and breakroom for the teachers, and two playgrounds. A Conditional Use Permit is required for the proposed school use. A Minor Site Development Permit is also required for the exterior renovations to the building, external play areas, parking, and other site improvements.
CEQA: Notice is hereby given that the City of Milpitas has completed an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the proposed Stratford School Project in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act. The Notice of Availability (NOA) / Notice of Intent (NOI) to adopt an Initial Study Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration can be viewed here and the Notice of Completion can be viewed here. The City of Milpitas Planning Department is currently closed to the public. A hard copy of the Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration is available for review at the Milpitas Library, 160 North Main Street, Milpitas, CA 95035. The Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration is available online at https://www.milpitas.gov/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Stratford-School-125-N.-Milpitas-IS-MND_COMBINED_electronic.pdf. You may submit comments or questions about this project to the City of Milpitas at the address below. Please write “Comment for Stratford School, 125 N. Milpitas Blvd.” in the subject line. The deadline to submit comments is August 5, 2021.
