1. United States Department of Veterans Affiars

The primary federal agency for all veteran affairs. It has three major divisions: Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefit Administration, and the National Cemetery Administration.

2. Veterans Health Administration

Health care and medical treatment.

3. Veterans Benefit Administration

Examines and adjudicates all VA compensation, pension, GI Bill, education & training, death & burial, and other benefit claims.

4. VA National Cemetery Administration

This directory lists many organizations, such as the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and others. Local chapters of these organizations can be found by clicking on “County Veterans Organizations” on the Santa Clara County Veteran Service Office website.

In addition, several of these organizations maintain offices in the Oakland Federal Building that are staffed by veteran service officers and representatives to help with claims applications and to provide advice on VA benefits.
