Founded April 20, 1993. Originally founded as the Senior Advisory Committee on December 14, 1978, this Commission served in advisory capacity to the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Commission. The Commission now advises the City Council on matters pertaining to recreation, leisure, and nutrition services for the senior citizens of Milpitas. 7 Commissioners and 2 Alternate Members are appointed to three-year terms.

The Senior Advisory Commission shall hold meetings the 4th Tuesday of February, April, June, August, October, and December, at 1:30 PM at Room 140/141 in the Barbara Lee Senior Center, or a designated location.
