Odor Complaints:
Odor issues have been a long standing community concern for Milpitas residents. City staff have tracked odor complaints through the MyMilpitas App since 2014, and have provided reports to the City Council on odor complaints received by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD).
The MyMilpitas App tracks a total of 13 categories the community can provide feedback on. Based on data for 2018, odor is one of the top five areas with respect to volume of requests and complaints received. The other four top categories in descending order are: tree maintenance, debris on sidewalk, street lights, and potholes.
To date, in 2018 the City has logged a total of 806 odor complaints, both through the MyMilpitas App and BAAQMD data received. For comparison, 1,444 complaints were received in 2017, 2,541 were received in 2016, and 2,822 complaints were received in 2015.
