Dear City Residents and Businesses near McCandless Drive,
The City of Milpitas will be starting construction of a potable ground water well to
supplement water supply. The well and pump station will be located in the future
McCandless Park adjacent to the recently completed Mabel Mattos Elementary School
(Map Attached).
Construction Noise & Lighting Impacts and Working Hours: The level of sound
generated by the well drilling and installation activities is expected to be similar to other
on-going construction activities within the area. The drilling operations and construction
work will require 24-hour continuous operation for approximately 14 to 21 days until the
well bore hole is complete. To mitigate potential construction noise and work lighting at
night, the Contractor will install temporary sound barriers around the work site.
Traffic Impacts: Construction equipment will enter and exit the site at the McCandless
Drive project entrance near East Penitencia Creek. Vehicles and equipment may enter
the site at different times requiring minor traffic delays.
