After the Bell - After School Program

The City of Milpitas After the Bell (ATB) Program is excited for the opportunity to serve you and your child(ren) for the upcoming 2023-24 School Year! Program starts August 10, 2023 and runs through June 5, 2024 from school dismissal until 6 p.m., including minimum days.

This year’s ATB offers some new features such as accepting enrollment for Kindergarten students, healthy snack, and a new “Kids Club” component where your child(ren) will be able to choose to participate in special enrichment activities such as STEAM, creative writing, mixed sports, coding, and gardening throughout the year! Favorite activities like Homework Help, outdoor games, and social time will also be on the program schedule.


Program Sites
Program locations and enrollment capacities are determined by the site administrators and the rooms available. If you have questions about a school site that is not listed, please contact that site’s Principal. New sites have been added this year at Recreation and Community Services’ facilities! Milpitas resident students from any school may enroll at those sites.

Program Cost and Registration
ATB enrollment is $13 a day ($2,340.00 for the school year). Enrollment costs can be paid in full or paid via an affordable payment plan.

Payment and Payment Plans

  • All families registered in the After the Bell quarterly payment plan will be required to have a valid credit card on file. Families will have the choice to pay in-person three days prior to the payment due date, or have ActiveNet automatically charge the credit card on file at midnight on the day payment is due. In-person transaction fees will be $5 per transaction. Your initial payment due at registration will be charged a transaction fee at approximately 5%.
  • All payments must be received, in-full, on or before the deadlines listed above. Should a payment not be received by the deadline, your spot will be forfeited to the next person on the waitlist list for the entire school year. There will be no grace period for late payments. Please make sure all credit cards on file are valid and current.
  • Registration/payments will not be accepted at the schools/program sites.
  • An additional non-resident fee of $25 for non-Milpitas residents (per registered child) is due with the first payment. For Milpitas residents please be prepared to show two proofs of residency.



  • A Refund Request Form must be submitted either in-person at a City facility or emailed to City staff.
  • The refund amount is based on the date when the form is received plus 10 calendar days. Participant will then receive a refund for the remaining days of program not attended minus a $10 service charge. Material fees and transaction fees are non-refundable.
    • Example: Refund Request Form is submitted on September 1, 2023. Count 10 calendar days out and the refund amount is based on the 10th day (in this example the 10th day is September 10, 2023).



  • If a site is full, you have the option of joining the waitlist online through ActiveNet.
  • If a spot opens at site, City staff will contact families based on the order of the waitlist. The order is determined by chronological date and time of waitlist registration.
  • Being placed on the waitlist does not guarantee enrollment in to program.
  • If City staff contacts you regarding an open spot at site and you are not ready to register at that time, your name will be removed from the waitlist.
  • If after several attempts we are not able to contact you via phone calls or emails, you will be removed from the waitlist.
