
Every February Milpitas honors the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrates Black History month with an essay and art contest open to elementary through High school aged student who live in Milpitas or attend school here.
The theme of the 2021 contest was “Keep moving,” excerpted from this famous quote of Dr. King’s:
“If you can’t fly, run. If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl, but by all means, keep moving.”
