Spring Activity Guide

This spring we invite every member of your family to stretch their wings and fly! Inside you’ll find many new classes and activities to try, and some old favorites we haven’t seen in a long time. You’ll also find information on our new McCandless Park and community garden, opening this spring. McCandless Park, located adjacent to Mabel Mattos Elementary School, will truly have something for everyone – from a butterfly garden and community garden plots that can be reserved to grow your own produce, to lit sports fields and two all-inclusive playground areas where people of all ages and abilities can play together. You can also look for the return of our popular Senior Center spring tea, Spring Break Camps, and a new Holi event, where the colors will fly and guests will be as colorful as butterflies by the end of the event!

Fall Activity Guide

Fall is here, and this Milpitas Recreation and Community Services’ Activity Guide is overflowing with a bountiful harvest of new events, activities, and services for your family. We are happy to introduce three new events funded by the American Recovery Program Act to help reunite our community after COVID. We hope you’ll join us at the Lantern Festival in September, ArtWalk in October and Diá De Los Muertos in November. Also new this season, we are piloting Saturday morning hours at the Senior Center and a pickleball program at Gill Memorial Park and Hall Memorial Park! We’re offering new Parent and Me cooking classes and kids chess club and bringing back breakdance. We have a new Social Services Coordinator, new ARPA funded childcare subsidy program and new support group for people caring for elderly relatives. We’re listening to what you’re hungry for, Milpitas! Fill your family’s plate with all we have to offer and join us at the table with your neighbors and friends in our awesome community!
