Milpitas Stabbing Investigation – June 21, 2020

On June 21, 2020, officers responded to the 130 block of North Temple Drive on the report of a stabbing that had just occurred inside an apartment.  When officers arrived, they were confronted by a 19-year-old man near an adjacent courtyard who was armed with a large kitchen knife.  Officers ordered the man to drop the knife and surrender, but instead, the man charged at an officer while still armed with the large kitchen knife.  A Taser was deployed but unsuccessful at stopping the man, and an officer then used his service weapon to stop him.  The man was taken to the hospital where unfortunately, he passed away from his injuries.  As for the 34-year-old victim of the stabbing, he was treated at a hospital and released.  The police department has released portions of audio and video evidence in the form of a video intended to inform our community of what occurred.  Portions of the video have been redacted, as noted in the video itself, and the purpose of the video is to provide more detailed information about this tragic incident.

WARNING:  The video contains graphic images and audio that is not suitable for all viewers, and it contains foul language.
