How Can We Help?
Litter hurts our waterways and wildlife. Let’s work together to clean up our creeks, parks, and neighborhoods. You can participate on your own or by joining one of our in-person sites. Check back in a few weeks for more information on this year’s California Coastal Cleanup Day event or sign up for a local cleanup at https://cleanacreek.org/upcoming-events/!
Volunteer With Us!
Past Coastal Cleanup sites in Milpitas include:
-
Tularcitos Creek at Peter Gill Memorial Park, Paseo Refugio & Santa Rita Dr
- Penitencia Creek at Hall Memorial Park, La Honda Dr & Hermina St
Join us in protecting your happy place! Email milpitasworks@milpitas.gov or call (408) 586-2614 for more information.
In order to receive volunteer hours, service forms, and Letters of Appreciation – volunteers will need to have registered for the event through Eventbrite and participated in the cleanup. Eventbrite links will be posted as Coastal Cleanup Day approaches.
Cleanup Supplies
- Cleanup supplies will be provided to volunteers at in-person clean up sites.
- If you are cleaning up around your neighborhood, you will have the option to pick up supplies such as trash bags, single-use gloves, and litter sticks from the Valley Water Warehouse (off Winfield & Blossom Hill in San Jose).
- If you prefer to pick up supplies at Milpitas Public Works Office (1265 N. Milpitas Blvd), please email milpitasworks@milpitas.gov.
- Before exploring these options, we STRONGLY encourage you to repurpose items from home, like garden gloves and grocery bags.
