City of Milpitas Interim City Manager & Permanent City Manager Candidate Decision Announced
At the January 16, 2018 City Council meeting, the Milpitas City Council announced a unanimous 5-0 decision to begin contract negotiations with a candidate for Milpitas’ top Administrator position, City Manager. The announcement made by City Attorney Chris Diaz, informed the audience that the City will not be disclosing the name of the selected candidate pending those contact negotiations. In preparation for the short time between the retirement of Interim City Manager, Steve Pangelinan on January 16, 2018, and the expected start of the new City Manager, Milpitas City Council worked with the consultant group Management Partners, to interview and ultimately appoint Dianne Thompson, an experienced, retired Bay Area city manager, as Interim Milpitas City Manager while contract negotiations are finalized and the permanent City Manager placement is announced.
The City anticipates and is looking forward to a formal announcement of the next City of Milpitas City Manager within the next month.
