About
Milpitas' Barbara Lee Senior Center - named for a former Milpitas Councilmember and advocate for seniors - is a bright, beautiful building with a welcoming staff and lively atmosphere. It draws a steady age 50+ crowd for daytime fitness, art and enrichment classes, presentations and special events, a popular lunch program, fitness center and friendly competition at the ping pong, pool and board game tables. Senior Center Membership is required for most programs.
In the late afternoon, the building doubles as our Teen Center, providing a safe space to socialize, spread out and do homework with friends, take enrichment classes and work out.

On weekends and evenings, the auditorium and classrooms are available for rent for family events, club activities, and other community events.
Facility Rental
The Barbara Lee Senior Center Community Room, conference room, and classrooms are available for private rentals. For dining events, the Community Room can accommodate 150 people (120 with a dance floor area) and up to 175 for non-dining theater-style/presentations. The Community room also features a commercial kitchen where your caterer can store meals and serve from steam tables. The conference room and classroom are perfect for small meetings or get-togethers, and both come with projector screens.
Reservations can be made up to a year in advance of the proposed date by Milpitas residents and up to 6 months in advance by non-residents. Reservations must be made in person. Reservations can be made during facilities business hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Reservations require a deposit and a non-refundable Application Fee to secure the date. A rental date transfer request will assess a $100 transfer fee. All fees and facility rules and regulations are subject to change.

Please note, an additional facility attendant may be required for room rentals depending on event and/or other activities taking place in the facility. Additional fees are required should alcohol be served/sold.

Cancellation Policy
Facility cancellation must be done in writing on forms provided by Recreation Services. Cancellation forms will be accepted in person only. Mail or phone cancellations will not be accepted. Photo identification is required for cancellations. Please note: All facility application cancelations will forfeit the $30 application fee.
A full refund of the deposit will be granted, provided a cancellation is made within 91 days or more of the rental date.
If cancellation is made more than 46 to 89 days prior to the rental date, 50% of the deposit will be forfeited.
If cancellation is made within 45 days or less prior to the rental date, 100% of the deposit will be forfeited.
