Beginning April 9, 2018, Public Works staff will be working with MNS Engineers, Inc. for the 2018 fats, oil, and grease (FOG) inspection program. MNS will begin inspecting the grease removal devices (grease traps and grease interceptors) at all food service establishments (FSEs) in Milpitas. A sound fats, oil and grease (FOG) program is critical to the operation of a sewer system. This program helps minimize FOG from being deposited into drains and ultimately to the sewage collection system by educating the FSEs’ staff on best management practices, which help prevent sewer back-ups and ensures compliance with the City of Milpitas Municipal Code.
If you have any questions, please call the Public Works Department at (408) 586-2600. Additional information regarding the FOG program can be found at https://www.milpitas.gov/milpitas/departments/public-works-department-home-page/sewer-home-page/public-works-sewer-fogs/
